My name is Mrs. Kathleen Briggs and I am very excited to be teaching at Abbot. I have been teaching for over twenty years and prior to teaching in Ann Arbor I taught in Romulus and Inkster. I completed my Bachelor’s degree at Eastern Michigan University and Master’s at Marygrove College. I am very excited about teaching 2nd grade because it is my personal favorite!

I live in Ypsilanti with my husband and our two beautiful daughters Abigail and Emily. They are just the sweetest! When we are not at school or work, we love spending time as a family going on adventures with our dogs Bella and Star.  Star is Abbot's therapy dog and I am very lucky to be her host family and handler.  

I feel very fortunate to be a 2nd grade teacher at Abbot and I am looking forward to a great 2nd grade year for your child.
