Welcome students and families! My name is Stephanie Gooel. I am a 2nd grade teacher, and I am so excited to get to know you! This year is certain to be filled with important learning and connections and I want to thank you now for your commitment to working together.

As a teacher, my mission is to help children understand themselves and the world around them. Encouraging curiosity and helping to build confidence are key, and it is always my goal to provide a safe space for students to feel valued and inspired. This year we will work hard to try new things without fearing failure; we will grow patience, compassion, independence and community; and of course, we will have lots of fun!

I have a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Michigan and a Master’s degree in Teaching from Relay GSE. Before my career in education, I worked in Marketing & Communications in NYC. I began teaching in Brooklyn in 2014, joined King in 2020, and have taught across grades 2, 4 and 5.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, camping, canoeing, playing sports, practicing piano and guitar and going to comedy shows.

I am honored to be a part of the King Family, and I look forward to an unforgettable year together.
