Mrs. Teall

Welcome to 5th grade at Eberwhite!! My name is Maggie Teall, and I am so excited to spend this school year as your child’s 5th grade teacher! This will be my third year at Eberwhite, but I’ve been teaching for over twenty years, including six years at Lawton. I have also taught in Brighton Area Schools, at Cranbrook’s Brookside School, and at Marist Brothers International School in Kobe, Japan. I love working with this age group, and I am so excited to get to know your children!

I am an AAPS parent in addition to an AAPS teacher. My daughters Charlotte and Lila will be 6th and 8th graders at Slauson, and my son Graham is entering 10th grade at Pioneer. I’m originally from Holland, Michigan. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and English Literature at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, and my master’s degree in Children’s Literature (with an emphasis in writing for kids) at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia. I’m currently working on a second master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) at WMU. I spent five years teaching in Japan. I have a background in theatre and creative writing, both of which I use in my teaching. My favorite part of the school day is read aloud.

Here's hoping for a fun, stress-free last first day of elementary school!! We are going to have a great year!
